How can I recycle these materials?
New York City currently only recycles plastic items with narrow necks. This means that deli and yogurt containers, even ones made of type 1 or 2 plastic, cannot be recycled regularly. Isn’t there a facility I can take these items to, rather than putting them in the trash?
Also, how can I recycle batteries?
Thanks!
Out where I live the local Circuit City, Home Depot, Office Max and even the Verizon stores all offer barrels for recycling various types of batteries. Also club stores like Sam’s Club have a recycling barrel just inside the entry.
However, I can’t find a place that accepts those deli and yogurt containers in my town. They only accept milk and detergent jugs. Recycling is just in it’s infancy out here. I hope things improve.
